Under direct supervision, the Page shelves and organizes library materials, maintains shelves and performs special projects. Pages also respond to general questions from patrons.

Customer Service
Provides excellent customer service to all library patrons • Maintains confidentiality of patron information • Directs patrons to library areas or staff as appropriate • Retrieves library materials for patrons
Shelf Maintenance
Efficiently shelves library materials in the proper location • Shifts library materials, as assigned • Maintains orderliness of displays and shelves
Teamwork
Maintains a collaborative working environment • Provides support to department projects, as needed • Attends meetings and serves on staff committees, as requested • Supports library-wide initiatives, such as SummerREAD
Miscellaneous
Records statistics for library transactions, as required • Maintains and increases knowledge and skills through professional development • Represents the library at community events, as assigned • Performs additional duties and assignments, as required.
Physical and Environmental Factors
The incumbent may be exposed to: Physical: Frequent walking, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and pushing carts. Moving/lifting up to 30 pounds, pushing up to 70 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Environmental: Typical office setting with no extreme temperatures or fumes. Minimal, if any, exposure to hazardous materials. Exposure to dust.
Minimum Requirements Education
Must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years of age. Work permit required for students. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Helpful Skills and Abilities
Effective verbal and interpersonal skills to respond to coworkers, supervisor, and patrons. Organization, prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks. Basic communication skills. Basic computer skills. Incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Position requires 14 hours per week.
