StoryWalk®

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is celebrating a new StoryWalk® at the Benton Ridge Park!  StoryWalk®   is an innovative way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.  Pages from a children’s book are attached to a post, and placed along a path.  Children and their caregivers then follow the path where they will find the book, two pages at a time, along the path.  The book for January is Ten Ways to Hear Snow by Cathy Camper.

The library’s original StoryWalk® is located at Riverside Park in Findlay.  That path runs clockwise from the bandshell to the Waterfalls Pavilion.  There is a new story every month for the community to enjoy.

Library Director Sarah Clevidence said of the new addition in Benton Ridge, “StoryWalk is a great opportunity for families to enjoy the experience of reading together while also exploring one of our great local parks.  We are excited to expand the StoryWalk® program to this new location and grateful for the support of the Benton Ridge community.”

StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.  It is made possible in Hancock County thanks to a HancockREADs grant from the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.
