New Perspectives Discussion Series

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library presents New Perspectives, a monthly book discussion series meant to inspire thoughtful discussion and learning through literature and connection with community. Enjoy a book from the library’s collection, then attend a discussion co-led by a library staff member and a member of the community with professional expertise and/or life experience in the topic raised by that title. Each month, we will feature a new topic.  This program is funded by a grant from The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.

In August, join Chris Caldwell, International Services Coordinator at Ohio Northern University, for a live Zoom discussion of The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander. The New Jim Crow is available for digital download on Hoopla.

This discussion will take place Tuesday, August 18 at 6:30 p.m. Register for the Zoom discussion by emailing
