Hands Only Citizen CPR Program

Hands - only CPR is a potentially lifesaving technique involving no mouth to mouth contact. It is best used in emergencies where someone has seen another person suddenly collapse. The hands-only technique increases the likelihood of surviving cardiac emergencies that occur outside medical settings.

Basket Weaving.

Basket weaving class. Registration required. Pay material fee at the reference desk. Participants will be making a flat heart shaped basket. Interested patrons need to register at the reference desk and pay the $15.00 material fee when they register. Class size is limited. Registration required at the Reference desk.

Lock-In for Hancock County OGS Members

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library welcomes members of the Hancock County OGS (Ohio Genealogical Society) to its annual members-only genealogy lock-in on Friday, April 10 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the library. Participants should arrive before 5:00 p.m. and park along Broadway or in the parking lot (the underground parking garage closes at 5:00 p.m.) Staff and volunteers will be available to assist with research, and particpants may bring an optional brown bag supper. Children and teens are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult.

Gentle Reads

Butterfly Palace by Colleen Coble. With charm and humor, these novels explore the everyday joys, frustration, and sorrows of lives quietly led. Gentle reads can be found across many genres, however, they are not likely to be in horror genres. The realities of sex, violence, and other passions are downplayed and are never presented in a graphic manner.
