Learn the basics of Word 2010. Some of the information that will be covered includes: formatting, text, page layout, indent and tabs, line and paragraph spacing. Some computer skills required. Registration is required.
Senior Advocate Fraud Education educates caregivers, social workers, seniors, and their families about frauds and scams targeting older adults. In an effort to build a working knowledge this program educates why older adults are targeted; which scams target older adults; avoiding insurance fraud; practicing safe investing; managing utility bills and preventing scams; fighting back against identity theft; avoiding credit and debit card fraud; and maintaining safe and fraud free environments. 1.5 CPE credit hours are available to social workers.
Library staff and volunteers will assist participants with genealogical research. Many resources will be available for research, including books, microfilm records, and genealogical computer databases. Children are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is required. Participants should arrive before 5 p.m.
In honor of Family History Month, the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will hold a "genealogy for beginners" session on Tuesday, October 7 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Basic tips and advice for starting a genealogy project will be presented by library staff member Justin Crawfis. Children are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is not required.
